The Salar Jung Museum was established in 1951, was initially a private Museum. It is currently administered by a board of Trustees and the Governor of Telangana. The artefacts in the museum were collected by Salar Jung III who was a prime minister of Hyderabad during Nizam’s rule. The museum has a huge collection of art, textiles, manuscripts and rare artefacts. It is considered as one of the largest Museums in the world. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru inaugurated Salar Jung Museum in 1951.

The Birla Science Centre was inaugurated with a vision to inculcate scientific temper in young students. It was inaugurated by ex-CM of Andhra Pradesh Mr NTR. They organize special sessions for school students and offer courses in Astronomy and Astrophysics. The Birla Science Centre is one of the best science centres in the world. The Planetarium has conducted various events on Sky shows for the public.

The Telangana State Archeology Museum was established in 1930. The museum has ancient archaeological artefacts and excavation of the last century. There is a gallery of Gautham Buddha and Mahavira in the Archaeological Museum discovered in the excavations at various sites.

The Sudha Car Museum is a dream location for car-lovers. The owner Mr Sudhakar has collected and innovated unique and vintage cars and bikes in the Museum. The Museum is full of creative stuff. The Nizam Museum contains a large collection of gifts and memoirs that the last Nizam has received from various dignitaries. Apart from that, there is a wardrobe of VI Nizam, Mir Mahboob Ali Khan on display to the public. It is located in the Purani Haveli (The official residence of Nizam rulers) and is run by the Nizam Trust.
