The history of Taj Falaknuma Palace dates back to 1884 when it was built by Nawab Sir Viqar-ul-Umra, the Prime Minister of Hyderabad during the reign of the Nizams.
The palace later became the residence of the sixth Nizam of Hyderabad, Mir Mahbub Ali Khan, who was impressed by its grandeur and acquired it. Falaknuma Palace served as a royal guest house where many important dignitaries and royal guests were hosted.
After many years of restoration, the palace was converted into a luxury heritage hotel by the Taj Group and reopened to the public in 2010, preserving its royal architecture and historical charm.
